So yesterday in this post, Adam tagged me. And although I normally am not a fan of these chain letter sort of things, it seemed harmless and sort of fun. Plus I got a movie to add to netflix out of Adam’s list. So I have decided to play along. But my part of it will die, because I don’t have 3 blogging friends to tag next.
Here it goes: My top ten favorite films (in no particular order)
- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Edition)
– It’s probably cheating to name 3 movies in one line, but there is nothing resembling an ending in the first two. They are one story, and this is my list so you’ll have to like it. Also the extended editions are the only way to go.
- In the Line of Fire
– “I know Things About Pigeons, Lilly”
- Tommy Boy
, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore
– These are the great trilogy of stupid movies that make up my college experience. Again not just one movie, but I associate them so closely and have pretty much memorized them. So I put them in one line. But if you forced me to choose only one I’d pick em in the order they are listed.
- Return of the Jedi (Star Wars Ep. VI)
– I’m a geek, what can I say. And I know this is supposed to be Empire Strikes Back, but I like Jedi better, and this is my list,
- Thirteen Days
– About the Cuban missile crisis follows the book very closely. I Love me some Cold-War history
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
– I’ve seen this movie every December since about 1994. it’s not Christmas till I see it.
- Rudy
– Always makes me Cry
- Toy Story 2
– Very nearly a flawless movie.
- The Princess Bride
– The book
is better, I’m reading it now, but I love this movie.
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail
– Easily the worst ending of a good movie ever. Fortunately you can just watch selections and it feels like you’ve see it all
The rules of the “game” are simple:
1. list your top ten favorite films (in no particular order).
2. if you’re tagged, you’ve got to post and tag 3-5 other people.
3. give a tag back (some link love) to the one who tagged you in your post
4. give a hat tip (HT) to Dan

I watch Christmas Vacation every year too. It’s a great movie that is always good for a laugh. Thanks for playing along!
You forgot the first Pirates of the Carribean.
You also forgot “From Justin to Kelly!” Come on!!
Since yall are having so much fun, send me your ten favorite movies. I’ll move em from the comments section to a full post if I get at least three
As for pirates of the Caribbean see Ask A Ninja
You’ll notice he reviewed Dead Man’s Chest, which was terrible. I said the first Pirates, or Curse of the Black Pearl, if you don’t know what the first Pirates was.
My list:
1.Pirates of the Carribean:Curse of the Black Pearl
2. Shawn of the Dead
3. The Prestige
4. Dodgeball
5. Happy Gilmore/Billy Maddison
6. Ocean’s 11 (new one)
7. Saving Private Ryan
8. The Bourne Series
9. Anchorman
10. Jurassic Park
These will probably all change randomly whenever anyone asks me.
What ‘Mimic’ and that one movie that Cager and Ben told us to watch and after an hour we decided that it “sucked more than suck has ever sucked before”; didn’t rank in your top 10?
What is wrong with you? By the way, Episode IV is the best of the original Star Wars Trilogy; in my opinion.
1. The Prestige- pretty flawless and very intriguing. Plus, Christian Bale is thth (too hott to handle).
2. Monty Python and the Holy Grail- I don’t have a big problem with the ending. Probably one of the funniest movies anyone will ever see.
3. My Fair Lady- again, I love, love, love the dialogue. Professor Higgins is my dream man.
4. Limelight and The Great Dictator- two movies but very similar- both Chaplin talkies where he really only uses the plots, albeit good, to get in some great philosophical speeches. Very moving.
5. Animal Crackers- If you’re going to see a Marx Brothers movie, this should be it. It’s the funniest of them all and shows the best harmony between the brothers. It also probably has the most classic jokes.
6. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington- some of the greatest dialogue about the U.S. and democracy.
7. The Sound of Music- kind of a famous movie.
8. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder, not Johnny Depp)- Love the music, love the humor, love to point out to other people how Grandpa Joe is one of the worst characters in all of film. Oh, and I love Gene Wilder’s crazy hair.
9. The Princess Bride- I can only find one teeny tiny problem in the whole movie. It’s great.
10. I can’t decide between The Great Race (1965) and This is Spinal Tap- two completely different movies, funny in their own ways, classic in their own ways. I think they both deserve to be in my top ten. Or, I could take Nigel Tufnel’s advice, and make my top ten “go to eleven” and just include both.
See, I can’t believe I forgot The Princess Bride and Holy Grail. Told you my list would change.
For my #10, I’d like to remove both “The Great Race” and “This is Spinal Tap” and replace them with “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.” Mervin? Your name is Mervin? Everything about it is wonderful.
